Beloved Prophet Muhammed’s (Pbuh) Supplication for non-Muslims
It is not known of any other messenger who supplicated for his people as much as Prophet Muhammedﷺ did for his people who didn’t even follow him.
The mercy for the entire universe ﷺ prayed for Allah’s guidance, mercy and protection from destruction, whether through drowning or famine or when being asked for destruction by the angel of mountains.
Moreover, Prophet Muhammed ﷺ also pardoned those pagans who attacked him during the battle of Uhud; he ﷺ said: اللهم اغفر لقومي فانهم لا يعلمون
_Oh Allah! Forgive my people as they do not know me. (Sahih Bukhari 3:1282, Sahih Muslim 3:1417)_
At one occasion a man said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ send your curse upon the pagans”, but the Prophet of Mercy ﷺ replied and said: “I was not sent as a cursor; I was only sent as mercy.” (Sahih Muslim 4:2006)
In fact Prophet Mohammed ﷺ would pray for the guidance of the non-Muslims. On one such occasion he is reported to have said: الهم اهد دوساً و أت بهم
“Oh Allah guide the tribe of Daws, and bring them to the straight (guided) path.” (Sahih Bukhari 3:1073, Sahih Muslim 4:1957)
